Foreign 3C dismantling website iFixit released a dismantling report of the Motorola Razr, praising the Razr’s design, but also believing that it is the most complicated smartphone ever built inside, and it is quite difficult to repair. Finally iFixit gave a repairable score of 1 point (out of 10 points).

iFixit said that in the process of disassembling the Razr, it was found that the casing was not easy to open. After opening, it found that there were a large number of flexible wires inside, which could easily be broken if one was not careful. In addition, when the Razr is folded, there will be a small gap between the hinge and the screen on both sides, which may allow foreign objects to enter, a problem that Samsung’s Galaxy Fold has had before.

Also, the Razr’s two batteries are located on either side of the hinge, and there are many screws and wires attached to the batteries that require great care to remove them completely. Given the difficulty of repairs, iFixit has questioned the Razr’s longevity, and it’s unknown how long these devices will last under normal conditions. Despite its extremely complex internals, iFixit believes the Razr’s design is excellent.
