The SZ1110 and SZ1130 devices are active-clamp flyback PWM controllers that integrate an adaptive digital PWM Controller and other ultra-high voltage (UHV) components, including active-clamp MOSFETs, active-clamp MOSFET drivers, and high-voltage startup cells. This unprecedented level of integration enables the design of more efficient, higher power density power adapters with lower BoM costs for power-hungry mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and video game consoles. .

These devices provide a simplified design of a flyback controller with all the advantages of an ACF design, including the ability to fully utilize the leakage inductance energy of the flyback transformer and limit the voltage spike at the drain of the main MOSFET during turn-off. The SZ1110 and SZ1130 utilize Silanna Semiconductor’s OptiModeTM digital control architecture, which adjusts the device’s operating mode on a cycle-by-cycle basis depending on input voltage and load to maintain high efficiency, low electromagnetic interference (EMI), fast dynamic load regulation and other key power parameters.
